Laundry!

Guess what I will be doing all day? LAUNDRY!!! Look at this mess:

Callie spent 5 1/2 days at camp and a day and 1/2 at a friend's, and Cassie spent 3 days at Taylor's not to mention I took a day or 2 off. I HATE laundry! Terry does it all during the school year, and he does a mighty fine job of it. But, in the summer he has this strange idea that I have time to do it, and he can take a few months off. I try to do a horrible job of it so he will get aggravated and just do it himself, but it doesn't work!

Presenting....the Turkeys

Terry and Clint, mostly Terry, have been working on a home for the turkeys for a couple of weeks, and here is the finished product:

They don't have names yet, and Clint doesn't think they need names. I disagree with him. What do ya'll think? Any ideas? BTW, they are both males. I was thinking about Lynyrd for one!

The Turkeys are Here!

Well at last, the infamous turkeys have made it to our house. I had to pick them up for Clint because he worked today. There are 2 of them. Clint is responsible for caring for them until mid- October. At that time, he will take the fattest one to the NC State Fair with his agriculture teacher. I will post pics of them and their home that Terry and Clint constructed tomorrow.

Senior Portraits and Carowinds

Yesterday our youth went to Carowinds for the day. Clint had to get his senior portraits taken at 9:30, so I had to take him to Carowinds after the pictures. I had told our youth pastor’s wife that I would help her with the picnic lunch that they were providing the kids, so I was just going to stay and hang out with them for the day. Clint and I arrived at Carowinds around 12:00, just in time for lunch. After the teens finished eating, and we packed everything back in the vans, we headed into the park. I hung out with Bro. RJ, Mrs. Liz, Cassie, Taylor, Justin, and Hannah until most of the youth were hot and tired and begging to leave. Boy are they going to die in Puerto Rico!! Since Clint arrived about 2 hours later than the rest of the youth, he wanted to stay for a while longer. Clayton and Ethan agreed to stay with him. So, I followed them around the for rest of the evening. They basically had the run of the park from 5-8. I bet they rode Drop Zone 20 times! Oh me…what did I ride? Uh…in the car, of course. That’s all this weak belly can stand!

Field Trip

Back in May, my grade level went to Linville Caverns and Gem Mountain. We had a great trip. Since Callie was in the same grade I teach, I was able to go on this trip with her. Terry also took the day off and traveled with us. We traveled in style by charter buses.

Lazy Morning, Busy Afternoon

This morning I am enjoying being a couch potato. I love summer mornings when I can just hang out in my pjs and watch some TV, something I don't get to do during the school year. Even our baby, Bailey gets into this lazy thing. Cassie's BFF, Taylor, has been with us since Monday night, and those bums are still in the bed. Callie is off at camp, and I miss that little booger. And, Clint is working for Terry's cousins that have an electrical business. He is likin' this makin' money thing! This afternoon I have summer planning at my school with the rest of my grade level. I'm one of those people that can't get enough of school, so I go and work in my room a couple days a week during the summer. And of course this evening we have church. Our preacher's wife has a slide presentation of her recent trip that promises to be very educational, and I can't wait to see it. Taylor will be with us until tomorrow night (after the youth get back from Carowinds) and then she and Cassie are doing a parent swap and moving to her house until Saturday evening. (that's when when Callie and Taylor's sister are returning from a week of camp and a birthday sleepover) They started this tradition last year. When their sisters are gone to camp for the week they take turns living at each other's houses. Then it will be deathly quiet here!

Following the Crowd

Well here I go, being a follower. I couldn't stand it any longer. I am now officially a blogger. Don't you just love my page layout? I have to give props to Cassie and Taylor for the design. I hired them to designed it. I just told them what I wanted and a few hours later, viola, they had a fabulous creation.
